Hardline Rules

Ignorance of the rules is not a valid excuse for breaking the rules.
Be respectful when dealing with others.
- This includes while RPing.
Permission is required before breaking into a building.

If you wish to visit a Lore location, please notify staff so we can regenerate the area for you.
Any structure created on the server, can be used by the server to create player driven events.
- This does not mean Ownership. But merely serves as a right of use.
Staff Members have final say if the previous rules do not come to a conclusion.

Player Behavior

The server is made towards being a place where stories are told. This also includes sad moments.

Players are given a small area to [landclaim] which is meant for their most precious of precious belongings. Every house and location that is built should be considered a set piece that other players are story tellers can use.

If you wish to break in to a structure to use devices, look around, leave something, or even steal (from the non land claimed containers). All we ask of you is to ask permission from one of the Lords, the story curators of our server. This is not done to permit or deny certain players, but simply to log what kind of events happen. So you don’t end up going to rob an already robbed place, or certain players don’t end up targeted multiple times.

Not adhering to this will lead to punishment; where you might end up branded as a criminal. Or outright banned from the server.

Charity and Playtime

We are also aware that not everyone has the chance to play as much as some do. While we do not stop anyone that wants to play. We do want to press upon the hearts of everyone that Charity is nice but sometimes misunderstood and can come across as bragging. While our group Lords will try to keep your resources spent. If you are considering Charity, Maybe send a single package with a letter out to players via the Mail mod we have. Instead of directly confronting them.

Server Etiquette

We are all here to have fun. But. We should also all be aware that could be different to how you define what is fun.

Please keep in mind that it’s a public space with all kinds of people. Finding someone that has exactly the same values and opinions as you will be a rare thing. Please treat eachother with respect. Here are some examples

The official Vintage Story Lore will take precedence over the Vintage Chronicles Lore while the server is live. We like the lore and would like to see it expanded, not reworked or broken.

Server Reset & Chronology

The server is set to a solid 35 days per month at the standard 48 minutes per in-game day rate. This is so that a new year comes around exactly every 14 days.

This will help new players pick a moment to join. And is slow enough for our story tellers to set up ingame events.

Near Spawn

With too many players the area around “spawn” can become depopulated or depleted of resources. This could take a time and there are no set limits. But please be advised that if the area needs refreshing, much like Lore locations, it will be regenerated. We will not ask permission to anyone currently residing there. However there will be a notification ahead of time.

Play not Police

We prefer to just play on the server with you. Rather than having to police or explain the rules. To that end we are open to discussion. But if we make a judgement, that is the end of the matter.

That is not a bad thing. If you think this might not be the right place for you feel free to look at some of the other wonderful servers out there. We have a list of known nice servers on the right we recommend. We hope you find a place that gives you the fun you are looking for.
